It is really a non touristic area but we can see significant views of Mt. Everest, Makalu, and hundreds of other mountains just on your eye. Sherpa, Rai and Limbus are the main inhabitants of this region. The Arun Valley, east of Everest, leading to Makalu Base Camp is least visited by tourists like Nepal’s far west. Trek to Makalu can be cut short by taking direct flight to Tumlingtar, a small village located on a plateau. The trek from Tumlingtar at barely 390m to Makalu Base Camp at 4,800m is a long and arduous as vast range in temperatures is confronted, from steamy in the lowlands to snow storms at high altitude.

Walking north up the Arun river to Sedua and Num, then crossing Barun La(4110m.)into the upper Barun khola valley for a close look at Makalu. You can put together an even wilder trek by crossing Sherpani Col and west Col into the upper Hongu valley. The highest point of this trek is Salpa Bhanjyang and also we can visit Hindu holy call Lake Salpa holy Lake(3414 m.). This is a marvelous and easy trek for trekkers who do not want to encounter a mass influx of tourists on the trail but equally enjoy beautiful scenarios of valleys, splendid views of silvery mountains. The tempting views of Arun river and valleys can be seen on the way of trekking terrain.

This region is blessed with an incredible diversity of natural beauty and culture. Due to its isolation and lack of tea houses this area still receives few trekkers. Sherpa, Rai and Limbus are main habitants in this area. Walking north up the Arun river to Sedua and Num, then crossing Barun La (4110m) into the upper Barun Khola valley for a close look at Makalu (8463m). You can put together even wilder trek by crossing Sherpani Col and west Col into the upper Hongu valley. The second part of the trek is very difficult and almost impossible without previous experience.

This time many trekking agency in Nepal categorized the Annapurna circuit as a Annapurna circuit short trek in Nepal. Even people donot trek all the way they trek at least to Chamche before tal. Mainly throngla divide the two side of the Annapurna trekking. Mainly anticlosewise side is Manang and another side of the Throng la after muktinath temple there are Kaligandaki river valley. In the partition this part of the trail said Jomsom muktinath trail. Due to the Bus, jeep facility from Muktinath to pokhara trekkers have choice to trek all the way down to Beni or tatopani.
Dharapani is the transist point of manaslu and Annapurna circuit trek. Manaslu trek end in Dharapani and trekekrs either back to Bensiar by jeep or continuous to Annapurna circuit trek. from Chamche to Dharapani section jeep road is very scary and high.
we see trekkers down to Kagbeni by walk then they preferred to trek to marpha next day. Marpha is very famous because of old house, monastery and big garden of the apple. I ti s the Little oasis of annapurna circuit section of Nepal.
from the pisang there are choice to follow the upper or lower trail. Upper pisang offer very magnificent views of annapurna top peaks which is divides another side of the trekking route of Annapurna. Annapurna conservation areas look after the entire Annapurna region of Nepal. Not only that Annapurna conservation occupy also upper mustang parts. From Manang , some crazy trekkers go to the Throng phedi, actually it is not good in the views of the height and acclimatization. It is best distance and acclimatization to walk in the high altitude to walk Manang to Yak kharka in a single day.

Marpha reconized as the capital of the Apple kingdom of Nepal where you can taste Apple crumble, Brandy, Apple juice, Apple Pie etc. There are Milerepa mediation cave, Monasery, tibetan refugee center and shop in Marpha.

Marpha to Ghasa by bus then 3 hours walking to Tatoopani(hot spring) from Ghasa
if you get direct bus to taopani from Marpha it is ok to ride all the way. most of the trekkers scary to ride a bus in a rough  road they prefer to walk however  bus makes them lazy and feel disturb. first you try to ride from Marpha to Ghasa then decide countinuy ride to Taopani. otherwise 3 hours comfort walking to Taopani, it is just 15 km distance from Ghasa to Tatopani(hotspring). Hot spring is the passion for the Annapurna circuit trekkers.

Tatopani to Poon hill or Pokhara

Tatopani(hot spring) to pokhara possible by one day by bus. if you lke to extend the trip or passion to go poon hill ghorepani , you can reach within 1 day from Tatopani. It takes 9-10 hours to reach Ghorepani from hot spring(Tatopani). if you have only 2 days, you can do the Ghorepani and poon hill then back to pokhara within single day from poon hill. you can use 3-4 days still if  you have time. or  Ghorepani to Nayapul via Tikhedhunga if you have one day time. in the case of 2 days time to reach pokhara if you have you can follow the route of Ghandruk.  oh! it is amazing , you can back pokhara 1 day from Ghorepani, 1 day from tadapani and Ghandruk which is suitable you can follow own way.
Extend trip to annapurna base camp: if you have 6 more days left you can do the Annapurna sancatury or base camp trip from poon hill.
Anapurna Range Nepal
This classic trek circles the entire Annapurna massif and in so doing offers a spectacular look at the variety of people and landscapes of this vast area, from the lowland farming country to alpine meadows to the arid and windswept desolation of the Tibetan Plateau to the north of the Himalayas. The 300 kilometer Anapurna Circuit Trek (ACT) is probably one of the best known treks in the world. Taking an average of three weeks to complete, the trek features some of the highest and most gorgeous mountains in the world. All along this circuit are tea houses. These vary from basic guest house accommodations to private homes and are invariably an extremely good value. This trek can be done in its entirety or you can hike only one or two of the sections if your time is limited. The ACT route begins in the sub-tropical area of Nepal– at Besisahar, surrounded by dense rain forest. Continuing on from Besisahar, the counter-clockwise route climbs through terraced farmland, temperate forests and alpine meadows, before entering the high valleys with the glacier-locked Anapurnas towering almost 5000m above you. Six days of walking takes you to the settlement of Manang (3500m) where we acclimatize and enjoy the mountain views. You progress north of the Himalayan watershed, into the dry desert area which is actually part of the Tibetan Plateau with its eerily stark atmosphere, but with amazing views of the Anapurna massif to the south. On day 10 we cross the famous Thorung La (Pass) 17,758 ft (5414 m), the highest point of the trek. The trek progresses through the Hindu and Buddhist Pilgrimage site of Muktinath, with the descent through the Nepali-Tibetan trading villages along the dramatic Kali Gandaki valley, the world’s deepest river gorge, back-dropped by sensational views of Mount Nilgiri and Dhaulagiri, with a stop at the hot springs of Tatopani. Along the way, you will encounter the Gurung and Thakali People with whom you can trade. From there you will head down to Gorepani, once again into rhododendron forests and meadows before returning to Pokhara.

Annapurna circuit trekking reviews

In 2000 Ad, we been in the Annapurna circuit Nepal. At that time there was no road extension like today and all the circuit of the Annapurna plus ghorepani  took 21 days. People can finished the Annapurna circuit with Jomsom trekking within 16 days. It  was called Annapurna half circuit trekking. Mainly we did from the lower pisang trekking than upper  pisang in the previous days. In the thorong phedi or base camp there was only one tea houses , and many travelers has a obligation to stay there and many trekking guide got a food  after the trekkers eat. There are many queue for the for the dhal bhat after 8 or 9 pm. To pass throng la from down took 7 hours and before muktinath there was no chances to eat food if they have no biscuit and snacks  they have to pass the hungry  days. In the Manang village of the Annapurna circuit trail there are many Bhattis for Dhal bhat and drinking  local wine called Roxi. Many trekking guide enjoy , singing and talking there for celebration the trekking in Annapurna circuit. Mainly in manang village  there are rest day for the trekkers  and every 3 pm there are high altitude lecture by the doctor. Amazing speech and ideas to trek up to the throng la and nutrition and ideas of taking the medicine.  Mainly throng la is the main goal in the Annapurna circuit trekking which is 5416 m height from the sea level. Throng la pass is the highest trekking pass in the world , people feel glorious to pass that. Down form the throng la to the muktinath take a 4 hours  and 1700 m down. After passing the chame, district headquarter. Now a days it is option all the bus to the Beni and pokhara or walking down from Muktinath. Kalaigandaki valley is very awesome  and beautiful. Between Dhaulagiri and Annapurna Himalayan ranges there are windy Kaligandaki valley up to the Kobang and tukuche  when walk down form the Muktinath. Tatopani is the main attraction after throng la and muktinath, after that up to ghorepani or Annapurna base camp  or directly back to pokhara is the choice point after Annapurna circuit trekking Nepal

Recent Annapurna circuit trekking itinerary:

Because of the newly opening roads and facility  to Jeep from Benshishar to Chame there are some disturbance the itinerary of the Annapurna circuit trekking. In the Clockwise direction starting point of the Annapurna circuit trekking have some confusion. Since Benshisar to Chame is long distance by Jeep and comfort Jeep riding, we recommendation you trekking start from Sange or Jagat. Similarly after passing Throng la there are road facility by jeep and bus to Beni, so it is trekkers Choice keep on trekking or ride a bus or some parts trekking. Because of this region starting point of the Annapurna circuit  trekking and Ending point of the Annapurna trekking is no fixed , it become choices.

Annapurna circuit trekking permit cost

Timms card and Annapurna conservation areas entry fee are the Annapurna circuit trekking permit. Annapurna circuit permit cost $30 usd per person. Timms card cost $ 10 and conservation areas permit $20 or equivalent to Rs. 2000 NPR with dollar exchanging rate.
Trekking Guide:
we recommendation the license holder experience trekking guide for the Annapurna circuit trekking who knows the first Aid and knowledge of the foods, geography and history about Nepal.

My last Annapurna circuit trek and Throng la pass
I make the Timms card and got a Annapurna conservation entry fee through my trekking agency document. Since  1 years I have not been in Annapurna circuit so I like to go Annapurna circuit with Lisha Hafner who become our Guest in our Home stay in Kathmandu Nepal. I briefing about the Annapurna circuit route, My experience in Annapurna circuit also I display the detail itinerary map. Then Lisa decided to book Annapurna circuit trek with me for 15 days.  As a Annapurna circuit trekking Guide I walk with Lisha to the Annapurna circuit trek. I had a difference interest and courage because since many months I did not trek at that areas of the Annapurna circuit.
2012 April I been to Annapurna circuit treks with Lisa Hafner who is from Italy. She booked 15 days for Annapurna circuit with me. Same day we ride a jeep to Sange from Benshiar then next day we trek to Tal from Sange. In Tal there are great rain then we decided to stay in tal. We also meet other trekkers in Tal, then we had a chances to chatting with them. In that trip we meet fellow travellers at Tal. Now a days Tal become off road from the Bus journey and there are purpose the Dam side of the upper Gandaki hydropower. Tal itself flat places with falls, river basin of marshayandi river. This time trekkers take jeep to Dharpani from Benishar but we still recommendation go to trek via Bahundada and tal if you like to follow the old route of the Annapurna circuit. From 2013 Ad  jeep road opened  to Chame, the district headquarters of Manang district.

We stayed upper pisang at hotel  pisang , we have chances to meet many other travellers trekkers, than we visit in Tal and Dharapani. We had great night talking and sharing experience with many other trekekrs.  We did not walk up via upper pisang , we follow the route Via Humde village to Manang. Other people follow the routes upper pisang and same day they arrive manang and catch up us. We stay the same fellow Annapurna circuit trekkers  at Hotel  Tilicho in Manang district manang. We rest next day  at Manang village(3500m). Generally manang  is one of the rest day itinerary in Annapurna circuit trek Nepal. There was altitude sickness wariness orientation  after 3 Pm. We look around Gannapurna lakes, enjoy the look around the Manang hills, visit 100 Rupees lama , just vertical up  from Manang Bazzar. Next day we walked 4 hours to the Yak kharka from Manang , stay at Maya Hotel Yak kharka. Next day we take a launch at Throng phedi  and trek to the High camp. I give special information to Lisa Hafner about  staying high camp or Throng phedi. In my experience I recommendation to stay in High camp rather staying in the Thorng phedi. It is difference 400 m, and possible to walk down if feel difficult. In the cases of the throng phedi, if  some body sick they have to back Chauri Ledar. To digest the high altitude we recommendation walking from the upper pisang and staying one night in Nwar village. Then next night Manang no need to rest at the case of staying Nwar one Night. Some people stay at Throng phedi but they could not come because of the headache. After passing Throng la and reach to the Muktinath we know this reality. From Muktinath we walked to the marpha that took more than 8 hours because we also visit kagbeni  just 2 hours down  from Muktinath. From Marpha we ride a Bus to Tatopani. We enjoy the hot spring at the Tatopani then next day we  travel to pokhara by bus.
