The Gokyo Valley is perhaps the most spectacular of the valleys in the Everest region and while the trail to Everest Base Camp gets close to the world's highest mountain there are those who suggest the view from Gokyo Peak offers the best panoramic view in the region. The trail to Gokyo has a network of small lodges which have recently seen big improvements in food and accommodation facilities.

This now makes the programme ideally suited to lodge-based trekking. The highlights are many, the sensational Ngozumpa Glacier, one of the largest in the Nepal Himalaya, the lakes at Gokyo, and the side trek to the top of Gokyo Kang (5360m) where the views are the amongst the most spectacular in Nepal including four 8,000-metre peaks: Cho-Oyo (8153m), Makalu (8475m), Lhotse (8511m) and, of course, Mount Everest (8848m).

After a magnificent mountain flight to Lukla we start the trek by following the Dudh Kosi river valley to Namche Bazaar. We trek at a steady pace allowing ample time for acclimatization and plenty of opportunity to enjoy the renowned Sherpa hospitality. The trail to Gokyo is a gradual ascent up the valley passing through patches of birch and rhododendron forest where the elusive musk deer can sometimes be seen. The mountain views are impressive as we head through small yak grazing settlements to the Gokyo Lakes.

Here we stop for two nights for exploration, which will include the straightforward climb to Gokyo peak. Our return route crosses to the opposite side of the valley and passes through the village of Phortse and on to Thyangboche monastery, a most magnificent location where we rest and savour the incredible scenery, including magnificent views of Everest, Ama Dablam (6856m), Kantega (6809m), Kwangde (6194m), Nuptse (7879m), and Lhotse (8511m) to name but a few. Langtang trekking

LANGTANG TREK
(11 days)

Trekking in the spectacular Langtang Valley is the closest you could get to the massive snow capped mountains from Kathmandu valley.

The Langtang Valley is located only 19 miles north of Kathmandu, close to the border of Tibet. The valley is dominated by Langtang Lirung [7246m], the highest peak in the area. This is a superb introduction to trekking in Nepal among some of the most beautiful scenery in the whole country.

This Langtang trek towards the base of Langtang Himal, north of Kathmandu valley, offers the shortest approach to snowy mountains from Kathmandu. The Langtang trek starts from Syabru Besi after a 9 hrs drive from Kathmandu. Following a trail upstream Bhote Kosi river through ethnic Tamang villages, lush green forests and the wide spread Kyangin valley surrounded by snowy peaks from all fours sides, takes you up to Kyangin at 3800 meter, where you get an opportunity to ascend Kyangjin Ri [4350m.], from where the 360 degree mountain views are truly panoramic. After an ascent of Kyangjin Ri, we retrace our route back down the valley to Syabru Besi and then drive back to Kathmandu.

Due to gradual ascent along the river valley this Langtang trek is not considered strenuous, but yet, it remains challenging as it reaches an altitude of 3800 meter at Kyangjin. The Langtang trek can be done any time of the year except during monsoons [July & August].

Variety

We offer a wide variety of different treks, tours and adventure trips to suit both novices and experienced travelers. Whether you have two days or two months to spend in the Himalayas, we can tailor your itineraries to suit your needs and desires. We take clients to unspoiled areas with the ever present, panoramic Himalayan peaks in the background. The narrow mountain paths take you through dense forests, lush valleys and quaint villages where the natives are very friendly and tend to regard guests as deities.

We respect and follow our clients' suggestions and ideas for planning their holiday. Our aim is to take you to a world totally different from your own and allow you to connect (or re-connect) with your own spirituality. Our hope is that all of our clients will leave Nepal with grand tales to share with their family and friends at home and will want to return again and again to their new friends in Nepal.
